Patricia Cole, Violinist, instructor, Phoenix AZ

LESSONS

“I highly recommend Patricia! She is patient and has a deep knowledge of the violin. My sons have improved tremendously.”  – Tom B.

“Patricia is an awesome teacher. She is soft spoken but gets the point across. My granddaughter has been taking lessons with Patricia for one year and in that time she has greatly improved her bow hold and left hand technique, as well as her vibrato–all of which have made her a better violinist.” – Sue A.

I welcome violin and viola students of all ages from beginners to advanced players and teach a wide variety of genres including: Classical, Fiddle, Contemporary, and Mariachi music. For younger players I am an advocate of the Suzuki Method developed by Japanese violinist, Shinichi Suzuki. This method is founded on the premise that children are born with the natural ability to play and enjoy music. The development of the ear, strong parental involvement that fosters an environment of praise and encouragement, and daily practicing and listening to music are all key to this method. I accept students under the Suzuki method as early as age 4.

I require that the parent attend their child’s weekly violin or viola lesson, takes notes and becomes the child’s teacher for daily practice sessions at home.   For intermediate-advanced players, I work out of a variety of method books tailored to each student’s playing level within their desired music genre.

First lessons are a “meet & greet” and are FREE!
